NC LIVE Website Accessibility

NC LIVE is committed to providing a resource that is accessible for all users, including those with disabilities. All of the pages on nclive.org are Section 508 compliant and conform with the W3C’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) at level AA.

Our Content Providers

Please note that NC LIVE selects and licenses resources based on the information needs of its users, from a variety of providers whose interfaces may, or may not, fully comply with the W3C and Section 508 guidelines. The NC LIVE resource selection process gives preference to content vendors who provide compliant interfaces when the products being considered are equivalent. The information below summarizes what our current content vendors have or have not done to meet accessibility requirements in their web interfaces. Please see the bottom of this page for more information about the evaluation process.

Accessibility Evaluation Process for Content Providers

The NC LIVE Website Advisory Committee evaluates the accessibility of NC LIVE’s content provider interfaces once every three years. When a group of resources has the same interface, one resource in the group is evaluated.

The resources are evaluated using the following tools and guidelines:

  • WAVE Web Accessibility Tool
  • Chrome Lighthouse Tool
  • Manual Checks
    • The page has a logical tab order.
    • Interactive Controls.
    • User focus is not accidentally trapped in a region.

In addition to our Accessibility Crash Course Videos and Accessibility LibGuide, NC LIVE is happy to provide evaluation materials and audit documentation to member libraries on request.
